Scene Breakdown

Scene 1

Title Screen
0:00 - 0:18

Brief: This scene started as an experiment with Maya particles and became a short composition using After Effects. The text, particles, and animation were created using maya particle effects and rendered in seperate layers. Once in after effects the layers were combined, finally special effects were added and colours were manipulated to achieve the final result.

Credits: I was responsible for the entire composition and its contents.

Software: Adobe After Effects, Maya 2010.

Scene 2

Skateboard Animation Pt.1
0:18 - 0:35

Brief: The early development of this scene started as an animation for a project but developed into a much larger scope. All the buildings, objects, and characters were modeled in Maya and uv textured in Adobe Photoshop. The scene was composited in Adobe After Effects and was given a few special effects.

Credits: I was responsible for the entire composition including modeling, texturing, rigging and skinning, animating, editing, and compositing.

Software: Adobe After Effects, Maya 2010, Adobe Photoshop.

Scene 3

Skateboard Closeup
0:35 - 0:40

Brief: This piece was supposed to be an origional composition, but instead it was incorporated into the skateboard scene. This animation consists of a high polygon model of a skateboard presented in ambient occlusion rendering, textured rendering, and wireframe rendering.

Credits: I was responsible for the entire composition and all of its contents.

Software: Adobe After Effects, Maya 2010, Adobe Photoshop.

Scene 4

Skateboard Animation Pt.2
0:40 - 0:50

Scene 5

Meteor Animation

All the other elements were created in Adobe Photoshop and composited and animated with special effects in After Effects.

Credits: I was responsible for the entire composition and all of its contents.

Software: Adobe After Effects, Maya 2010, Adobe Photoshop.

Scene 6

Boxcar Racers
1:14 - 1:48

Brief: These carts were created as part of a project for an artificial intelligence programming course. The models are combined with some background motion graphic elements and special effects. The carts were modeled in Maya and uv textured in Adobe Photoshop.

Credits: I was responsible for the entire composition and all of its contents.

Software: Adobe After Effects, Maya 2010, Adobe Photoshop.

Scene 7

Meepers Walk Cycle
1:48 - 2:05

Brief: The main character in this scene started as an animation project where we were given the model and had to animate and cycle a walking motion. For this demo reel I took the walk cycle and created a composition. The animation was created in Maya, the enviroment was created in Adobe Photoshop, and the entire scene was composited and special effects were added in Adobe After Effects.

Credits: I was responsible for the entire composition and all of its contents except the main character model and texture.

Software: Adobe After Effects, Maya 2010, Adobe Photoshop.
